at the local reception Neukirchen / Newchurch, the scene of the motorbike meet Triumph Tridays 2011: “my” undercover cover as oversized poster & I asked myself: would Scot stuntman Kevin Carmichael  paint after my command with his bike a prepared canvas?

my foresight: “Gilbert meets George” & “George meets Gilbert” at the Hoferhaus in Newchurch – a part of the exhibition

in reality I met the second day Kevin & Dirk:

motorbike stunt world champion Kevin Carmichael persuaded companion German stuntman Dirk Manderbach to join in the paint stunt performance. here both after the action – they had obviously fun – in spite of rain, what made with water the slippery  oil colour performance not easier

& finally both set by hand their autograph on the canvas baptized “Rainy Tridays´ Traces”

Moša Šišic & the Gypsy Express (all performers members of the family). The band led the audience with Balkan Modern over Macedonia, Greece & Turkey through the visual world of  more than 20 artists “living on the edge”, shy maverics, sheer naives, crazy maniacs & fantastic visionaries, all artists non-professionals & not influenced by the art historical mainstreams.

Bob Curtis   Stain Glass Image

I met Bob 2004 first time as painter on the Greek island Zakynthos, always thought him to be a dancer before.  An ingenious dancer, an extraordinary teacher of so called Afro Contemporary Dance, as he moved & taught at a summerstage the previous years. In summer 2004 he occupied the rooms of the appartment next to mine & when he came up the hill from seaside – a long in slow but vigorous rythm changing silhouette emerging from the landscape of the island – back from his course, he settled after teatime with a table on the shaded patio to paint. In those days it seemed to me he was painting through a pane of thin glass, smooth & fragile as his movements. Recently I looked forward to meet him next year again at the summeracademy´s stage. To meet him as dancer. To ask as painter the dancer some courteous questions (painting & dancing is an intense unity in the space of art – ten years ago I was lucky to perform “The Painter The Image & The Dance” with the Move On Dance Group of eight dancers directed by American dancer Grant McDaniel I met on Zakynthos too)

Tomorrow will be Bob´s funeral at the central cemetery of Vienna –  at the age of 84 he has closed his circle of life.

“I don´t have a point where I see it´s ending  – for me it goes on forever.” (Bob Curtis)

Did you already enter your magical garden, Bob? – What about the “sleeping dancer”? – Gimme a message, please!

TRANSFORMER  – The Art Of Visualizing Musik calls Joachim Luetke the exhibition of his artwork at Infeld Haus der Kultur, Austria. A brillant & breath-taking performance shown by the band PERSEPHONE (vocals Sonja Kraushofer) accompanied yesterday´s opening Zdenka Infeld had invited to follow. Born in 1957 in Germany, Luetke studied art in Switzerland during the late seventies, and I recognized that he improved his talent at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria as student of Rudolf Hausner at same time I did, from 1980 to 1986 . – “The wheel comes circle”, he signified in cryptical manner our meeting. Joachim Luetke still lives in Vienna as a successfull multimedia artist and he has created arresting images for a variety of venues, including posters, ads and CD’s. As short glimpses of yesterday´s evening see some photos in follow.
